I just wanted to drop a note and say that I am well and living in box-land in my new apartment.  I have scored a place in the middle of the Highlands in Louisville, KY - right smack dab where I wanted to be.  I have a nice two-bedroom right off of Bardstown Rd. within walking distance of, well, everything:

There are innumerable bars just across the street from me.  Coffee shops, restaurants, shops, groceries stores, and liquor stores abound.  I am on a bus route that take me directly to work.  I am a long block away from Cherokee Park where I run every morning.  My windows are shaded by the trees lining the street.  Bardstown Rd is populated by hot women.  The library is down the street.  There is a farmer’s market every Saturday about a block away from me.  Baxter Ave. Theatre has regular midnight movies.

The apartment itself is beautiful.  Hardwood floors and plaster walls.  High ceilings and new fans.  Central air/heating.  I have a gas range.  The landlord is a nice guy.  There are lots of windows.  I bathe in a claw-foot bathtub.

Of course, with a real job now, I’m not going to be spending as much  time in my apartment-of-awesomeness as I otherwise would have - especially now.  My boss has been called to active duty (bummer) and I am now a full-time employee as a result (yay).  At any rate, I’m busy getting out of boxes and making my apartment livable.  I plan on being there for several years, so I’d better make it a place I want to stay in.  Also, there *IS* a second bedroom for any of you weary travellers.  Just sayin’.
