Growing up is hard to do
I’m in Louisville, KY right now. I had a meeting with my future employer today. If I had any doubts that my employment was inevitable, they are allayed now. The president of the company and two vice-presidents were speaking as if I were already hired. I am stoked. I know you can’t tell from my deadpan font, here, but I’m really excited.
First, the job is cool. I will be an underwriter for a company which insured intellectual property. This involves knowing the technology well enough to determine the risks of infringement in a business sense. So, it is a combination of geeky science, law (patent law) and business.
Second, the job is in Louisville. Now, if you knew me in Ann Arbor, you know my feelings about Louisville. I. Love. Louisville. Everything reminds me of Louisville and I have been aching to come back for years. It was a major theme in my divorce as well. So, I’m getting what I really want.
I will need to take a personality profile soon. I’m thinking it will be a Meyers-Brigg type thing, which I have never taken. Thus, I’m looking forward to finding out if I’m an introvert or extrovert or whatnot.
